Ward 8: Sawmill Valley Drive (between Folkway Drive and Grosvenor Place).Ward 5: Morning Star Drive (between Lancaster Avenue and Netherwood Road).No demerit points will be issued and the registered owner’s driving record will not be impacted. Tickets are issued to the owner of the vehicle regardless of who was driving. The ticket, including a digital copy of the image and an enlargement of the license plate, is mailed to the registered plate holder within 30 days of the offence. The ticket includes a set fine that is based on the vehicle’s rate of speed over the speed limit when the image was taken. Then, a provincial offences officer reviews the image and issues a ticket. When a vehicle exceeds the posted speed limit in an ASE area, the ASE system captures an image. These cameras help to encourage drivers to obey the posted speed limit – making the streets safer for everyone. The ASE cameras are located in newly-designated 30-kilometres per hour ‘school area community safety zones’ where speeding has proven to be a consistent problem. Signs were installed on Morning Star Drive and Sawmill Valley Drive in early April to allow for a 90-day advance notice period for residents.
